Doctor and Chef, Mr. Robert Graham organized a session about the “FRESH Food Tips for a Sustainable and Healthy Lifestyle, One Meal at a Time” at a show called International Restaurant and Foodservice. Dr. Graham happens to be the co-founder of the FRESH Medicine, whose sole aim is to improve people’s health by increasing awareness regarding the 5 pillars of well-being that include Happiness, Food, Sleep, Relaxation and Exercise.
In his seminar, Dr. Graham being the longtime supporter of Meatless Monday encouraged his attendees to include more vegetables into their diets. In the conference, Dr. Graham also explained the ways in which our food trends, habits, and system have distorted the way we should be eating and how we should be using medicine. He simply said, “Eat more plants; eat less meat. Meatless Monday is a simple way to eat more plants.”
Dr. Graham has been prescribing “food as medicine” for more than 10 years now. He has just recently earned the title of Chef, graduating from the Natural Gourmet Institute and has taught more than five hundred workers of healthcare, most of them being doctors on how to cook meals that are whole food plant-based.
Meatless Monday is basically a global movement that is followed by millions of people, and delivers a very simple message of letting go of meat at least once a week in order to improve one’s personal health while taking care of the planet at the same time.
Meatless Monday was launched in 2003 and is The Monday Campaigns’ non-profit initiative, operating at ‘Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health’ with an aim of reducing the consumption of meat by at least 15%, and have collaborated with Center for a Livable Future.
