TIKTOK breaking worldwide records by crossing 1.5 billion downloads

As revealed by the new statistics, the famous TikTok app is at present the third most downloaded non-gaming app in 2019. The apps Whatsapp and Messenger have been the topmost downloaded apps this year, so far. Downloads of WhatsApp were nearly 707.3 million, whereas, that of Messenger was 636.2 million.

Facebook and Instagram followed these three apps by standing at number 4 and number 5 position with total downloads in 2019 587 and 376.3 million downloads, respectively.

In the last year, TikTok stood at 4th rank as the most downloaded non-gaming application in the world hitting 655.8 million unique installs.

So far this year, the application has broken the previous record by accumulating 614 million downloads, which is an increase of 6 percent year-on-year and according to the estimates it will be surpassing the total of last year’s downloads.

The major driver of TikTok downloads across the Google Play, as well as, Apple Store in India with 466.8 million, which is equivalent to 31 percent of all unique installs coming from the country.

Across the Google Play Store and App Store, the Lifetime user investing in TikTok has reached 175 million dollars across the world.

To date, in 2019, TikTok has accumulated revenue of 115.3 million from user spending.

The pace at which the application is growing at a phenomenal pace. According to Tower’s blog post, the music platform has to cross 1Bn downloads in February 2019 and it took nine months for generating a further 500 million.

The owner of TikTok ‘ByteDance’ is expected to launch a paid music streaming service to rival the likes of Apple Music, as well as, Spotify in the coming month i.e. December, as revealed by an article published by the Financial Times on 17th of November.
